This is an ongoing group designed to provide counseling, education, and support for men struggling with pornography, compulsive sexual behaviors, and/or adultery. This recovery group will help you heal from your past, strengthen your desire and ability to change in the present, and begin to experience the joy and peace of recovery. Working together with a group of other men in recovery will help give you the support you would otherwise be lacking in your own individual recovery. Our addictions have caused isolation but our recovery is built in community.
WHAT IS A SEXUAL ADDICTION RECOVERY GROUP?
HOW CAN IT HELP?
Sexual addiction recovery groups help us learn to honestly acknowledge areas we have sought to keep hidden and actively change how we think, feel, and act. We accomplish this by drawing from numerous perspectives including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, 12-step approaches, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. We will learn techniques to be more effective at identifying triggers and unhealthy thought patterns, setting structure and safety supports, planning ahead to prevent relapse, increasing healthy behaviors, building meaningful relationships, and learning to surrender and accept what we cannot change.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Any man desiring to recover from some form of sexual compulsion. Whether you are seeking treatment for a current addiction or you have been sober for years we invite you to join a community that will support you and help you establish and maintain an active recovery.
WHEN ARE GROUPS?
Men’s Sexual Recovery Group currently takes place on Wednesday mornings at 7 am-8:30 am and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00pm and 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Groups will run throughout the year on a quarterly schedule and additional groups will be added based on need (Minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 participants per group).

I connected with Chris Chandler at Bellevue Christian Counseling because I was interested in group therapy. It has turned out to be very impacting because it has helped me realize I’m not alone in what I’m going through. Group therapy helps translate what is learned in one-on-one counseling into real-life application. I look forward to the true connection, deep honesty and encouragement I find weekly at my group. I would say group therapy has also helped speed up my overall process. Chris’ strength and wisdom as a counselor and his ability to apply empathy and care has made my experience so hope-filled. Honestly I’m not sure where I would be had my path not crossed his. Thanks Chris!
