Here we are again. Breaking news, a new conflict has erupted in a distant land. We are glued to our televisions, computers, or smartphones, drawn in by a relentless news cycle that bring the unnerving feeling of uncertainty in a world that seems to be in constant turmoil. As a chaplain in the Army Reserves and throughout my 21-year Army career, the all too familiar phone calls from friends and loved ones panicking over a news story of new conflict have been a frequent reminder that overwhelming anxiety during times of war impact those I love the most more than me.
