The Best Bible Verses for Personal Development 3

These Bible verses for personal development can hold you accountable in your quest to develop your faith and
personal goals. They will teach you how to live the life of abundance God wants you to live. For greater memory power, write these verses out and post them where you can easily see them, or make them into a phone screensaver. By viewing them several times per day, your thoughts and actions can change for the better.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. – Romans 12:1

Like us if you are enjoying this content.

To live life as Jesus did, you must be willing to sacrifice yourself to please God and serve others. You cannot live just for yourself as a true Christian. Each day, you need to lay your agenda aside and offer your body, mind, soul, and spirit up to God in surrender, trusting him to show you the right way to live. In doing so, you will be worshiping God because you are trusting in his lordship over your life.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2

The world will constantly pressure you to conform to its ways. But for the greatest personal development, you will need to consistently resist the pull of the world. Instead, you can renew your mind and transform your thoughts with daily Bible study, prayer, and meditation on Scripture. When you are close to God in these ways, you will have a greater sense of his will for your life.

The Best Bible Verses for Personal Development 1Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! – Psalm 139:23-24

We all have blind spots that need correction. When we ask God to point out these blind spots to us, we can experience greater personal growth. Make these two verses from Psalms a daily prayer, humbly submitting your heart and thoughts to God. When he reveals something that isn’t right, confess your sins and ask him to help you choose the right path instead. Doing this day by day will help you keep a clean slate with God, and he’ll be able to use you for greater purposes.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

In your journey of personal development, don’t let your past hold you back. Meditate on this verse when you feel discouraged or tempted to sin. It will remind you that in Christ, your old self is gone, and now Jesus lives in you. The verse also reminds you of God’s great love for you, which will empower you to look forward with hope.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. – 2 Corinthians 5:17

This is another great verse for focusing on the future. Each day, you can surrender your mistakes and sins to God, asking him to help you be a new person who follows Jesus’ example. He will help you step into a new life that is empowered by the Holy Spirit, in which you can bear spiritual fruit for his glory: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

xIf any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. – James 1:5

The Best Bible Verses for Personal Development 3

A big part of personal development is growing in wisdom. Wisdom is not simply searching Google for answers. Instead, it is looking to the timeless principles in the Bible for God’s guidance on how to live. Many answers are black and white in the Bible. But for those situations that are less clear, you can boldly ask God to give you the wisdom you need, as often as you need it.

Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. – Proverbs 10:9

Integrity is an excellent virtue to pursue in your quest for personal development. It means that you make the right choices even when no one is watching. We need to remember this verse when we are tempted to make choices that are lacking in integrity. God makes a safe path for those who pursue integrity, but crooked choices will lead us down the wrong path. This verse can serve as a guard rail for your choices.

A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back. – Proverbs 29:11

To be a person of integrity and wisdom, you must have control over your anger. Though we live in an angry culture, we can practice self-control as Jesus did. Think of the times when your anger is triggered and pray that God will help you quietly hold it back when the situation is best left alone. If you get a rein on your anger, you’ll be far ahead in your personal development path.

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. – Proverbs 11:14

The wisest people don’t make decisions all on their own. In your personal development, seek out wise advisers who can give you godly advice when you need to make a decision. Consult with three or four of them and ponder the different viewpoints they offer. If their advice lines up with Scripture, you can be assured that your choice will be safer than if you had made it all by yourself.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. – Colossians 2:6-7

The Christian life is one of constant growth. We must continue to learn more every day, week, month, and year thatThe Best Bible Verses for Personal Development 2 we follow Jesus. Our roots grow down into him as we commit to studying his Word. We build our lives on him when we surrender our hopes, dreams, and plans to his rule.
